Tea Party party favor and planning ideas by Treasure Box Parties

Formal or informal, everyone loves a tea party! I have three boys who love having tea with me and their furry friends.

There are so many wonderful ways to have a tea party. You can search for tea rooms in your area and celebrate in a formal setting. Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Mother's Day and Mommy and Me Tea Parties are especially fun at a tea house.

Or, create an elegant atmosphere in your own home. Ask your guests to come dressed in formal attire and set the table with your finest china. Dad could help out as butler for the day. Set the table with flower arrangements in lovely old tea cups. Interesting tea cups can be found at your local antique shop.

Serve petite sandwiches with your favorite fillings. You can mix in some traditional petite sandwiches like cucumber and cream cheese. Most children prefer pb&j, turkey and plain cheese. Include scones with jam & cream, petits fours, dipped strawberries and other fruit for dessert. Experiment with different kinds of tea...English Breakfast, Herbal Teas, etc. I have found that children enjoy mild teas like Chamomile, English Breakfast and Rasberry Tea. Don't forget the sugar cubes!

Birthday parties are especially fun when incorporating a tea party into the theme. Children love fairy princess tea parties, butterfly tea parties, teddy bear tea parties, royal tea parties, under the sea tea parties, garden tea parties, diva tea parties, fashion tea parties, furry friend tea parties. Keep the kids engaged by mixing traditional tea party etiquette with fun games and crafts. Play dress-up, have a treasure hunt and create a fun craft like decorate a bonnet or crown, decorate a purse or create beautiful jewelry.

Party favors should fit the theme of your tea party. For a fairy princess or royal tea party the girls could receive a fairy set and the boys could receive a shield and sword set. For a formal tea party you could give the children their own tea set.
