Wii party planning and party favor ideas

Throwing a Nintendo Wii Party is great fun for kids of all ages. There are many different Wii themes that you can choose from...sports, Guitar Hero, Mario, High School Musical, etc. Add some decorations to fit your theme and fun food like Wii shaped cookies and Mii cupcakes and your guests will be impressed!

Entertaining the kids who are waiting to take their turn is important. Have the kids decorate a Wii themed t-shirt. Print images onto iron-on transfer paper, apply to the t-shirt and decorate with fabric markers. Another fun idea is to have the kids create their own Mii using fabric, fabric markers and a little imagination.

Match your party favors to your theme...give a rock themed party favor if you're throwing Guitar Hero party. Wii controller covers filled with treats make a great party favor. The kids can take these home and actually use them!

Tea Party party favor and planning ideas by Treasure Box Parties

Formal or informal, everyone loves a tea party! I have three boys who love having tea with me and their furry friends.

There are so many wonderful ways to have a tea party. You can search for tea rooms in your area and celebrate in a formal setting. Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Mother's Day and Mommy and Me Tea Parties are especially fun at a tea house.

Or, create an elegant atmosphere in your own home. Ask your guests to come dressed in formal attire and set the table with your finest china. Dad could help out as butler for the day. Set the table with flower arrangements in lovely old tea cups. Interesting tea cups can be found at your local antique shop.

Serve petite sandwiches with your favorite fillings. You can mix in some traditional petite sandwiches like cucumber and cream cheese. Most children prefer pb&j, turkey and plain cheese. Include scones with jam & cream, petits fours, dipped strawberries and other fruit for dessert. Experiment with different kinds of tea...English Breakfast, Herbal Teas, etc. I have found that children enjoy mild teas like Chamomile, English Breakfast and Rasberry Tea. Don't forget the sugar cubes!

Birthday parties are especially fun when incorporating a tea party into the theme. Children love fairy princess tea parties, butterfly tea parties, teddy bear tea parties, royal tea parties, under the sea tea parties, garden tea parties, diva tea parties, fashion tea parties, furry friend tea parties. Keep the kids engaged by mixing traditional tea party etiquette with fun games and crafts. Play dress-up, have a treasure hunt and create a fun craft like decorate a bonnet or crown, decorate a purse or create beautiful jewelry.

Party favors should fit the theme of your tea party. For a fairy princess or royal tea party the girls could receive a fairy set and the boys could receive a shield and sword set. For a formal tea party you could give the children their own tea set.

Nintendo Wii Birthday Party Ideas by Treasure Box Parties

Recently my son came to me and said, "mom, I have a new party idea for you...how about a Wii Party...and you can try it out at my next birthday!". As a party planner, I am always up for a challenge and initially I thought with 26 guests how could I possibly pull this off?

Since the Nintendo Wii is definitely a hit with my three boys, ages 4, 5 and 9, I knew it would make a great party. I was so happy with the end results that I thought I would share this with other parents of "Wii crazed children".

The first thing I realized when planning this party was that my house was not large enough for 26 young boys and girls. So, instead I rented a recreation center which can be done rather inexpensively through your local city parks and recreation department.

I then looked into TV rentals which is definitely the way to go for just one day. Since I happen to have a party business www.treasureboxpartiesandgifts.com, I opted to purchase the Epson Movie Mate (amazing quality for the price!!!) and use televisions from the different bedrooms in our home.

With 26 guests, I came up with a plan for a tournament where the children would play for 15 minutes at 5 different stations. The five stations consisted of 3 Nintendo Wii's, one that we own and the other two were borrowed from my brother and a cousin. The fourth station was a Playstation, borrowed from a cousin and the fifth station was a craft station where the children created their own Mii's.

Every 15 minutes they rotated to the different stations where they played Wii Bowling, Wii Baseball, Wii Mario Kart and Nascar on the Playstation (not Wii but my son happens to loves Nascar!) and the make your own Mii craft station.

At the end of the non-competitive tournament each child received a theme related prize like a mini bowling set for Wii bowling, baseball cards for Wii Baseball, etc. You can make your own Wii party as competitive as your children are geared for, but at this age children have a much better time when everyone feels like a winner.

The food consisted of pizza, Wii cookies and Mii cupcakes, popcorn, fruit roll-ups, Gatorade and water. The decorations included balloons, sports themed bowls, and metallic and black fabric. I put the cookies and cupcakes in the sports bowls and then used the Wii cookies and Mii cupcakes as the table decorations. The kids were amazed by the cookies and cupcakes!

Knowing that school was going to begin soon, I purchased pencil boxes for the favors and filled the box with some school supplies and things that my son loves best. To tie them in with the theme I created a Mii label for the box.

The children had the most amazing time at the party and every time I see one of the parents they are filled with compliments. The greatest part of all was that this was one of the easiest parties I have ever done!
